Ongoing Site Update Log

Hey folks. You have probably noticed the new forums. This is the first of this weekend's ongoing updates. The forums will stay up while the rest of the site is down, so people can post in the contest threads and whatnot, as well as continue discussion about whatever and whatnot.

This thread will be updated as things go on both here on the forums and behind the scenes as I port over the new site. I'm not exactly expecting anyone to be enthralled by this. This is mainly for my benefit so I can keep track of what I've done and what's left, but I figured I'd let other folk see it too so when the site is still down Sunday night, you can come here and see why

Anyway, hope you guys like the new forum look, there will be lots of other things added to it hopefully this weekend, but definitely over the next few days. If you have any ideas on how to make it better or things that don't look right, just make a post about it (but not here, because you can't. Make it General or something), because I really want these forums to be nice and functional for everybody.

New forum style activated and tweaked.

Wordpress theme ported, major plugins installed

next steps: activate and configure plugins, configure new sidebar

Plugins configured, sidebar finished, new pages created

next steps: Replace image leads, content on new pages

UPDATE IV --
Image leads replaced, some content finished; putting the rest on hold to focus on the Archive page.

Archives page finished, site update is about halfway finished

About Page is working in offline mode.

next steps: Bring About Page online, throw together Contact Page

UPDATE VII --
That took longer than expected. About Page is online. Further forum tweaks (HUDJUMP menu, update slidedown, and some other weird color things) done.

As far as I can tell, all that's left is to spruce up the Contact page and do a little writeup about the new site.
